Easter specials, delights and events for the family

If you’ve been too busy dealing with the kids, work, bus strikes, taxi strikes and marching to parliament to get rid of President Zuma then you may have forgotten to organise some time out for the family for Easter. But fret not, Mombabbles has come up with an A-Z list of deals to take advantage of, outings, and delights to treat the family with this Easter weekend and even beyond. The hard part will be deciding what to do and when!

  1. Adventure Clubs
    If you haven’t already downloaded this app, and you have children aged 0-6 years of age – you should. Create childhood memories by going on adventures recommended by this app. It provides great inspiration and events if you are sitting at home, bored.   2. Baby’s First Sitter
    Get R100 off if you book a babysitting stint with Baby’s First Sitter this Easter (14-17 April). “The Special is valid for any babysit booked for Friday through Monday.   1. Incredible Illusions exhibition, V&A Waterfront Watershed
    Kurt Wenner, the internationally acclaimed 3D artist and inventor of this fun and spectacular type of artwork as seen on pavements around the world, will be opening his “Incredible Illusions” exhibition.
    Commonly known as 3D interactive pavement art, the pieces on exhibition are completely interactive and educational – a concept very different from the general idea that is given at conventional museum of no touching and no photographing.
    The exhibition includes an educational zone that shares the history of Pavement Art and how geometry plays a pivotal role 3D painting, immersive and interactive art pieces. To conclude your experience there is an “Art Jamming” zone where visitors can learn the basics of 3D painting and express themselves. The paint used is nontoxic however, it’s near impossible to remove from clothing. To assist, complimentary apron will be provided.

  2. !Khwa ttu – Easter family day
    !Khwa ttu are having an Easter Family fun day on the 15 April from 10am to 3pm. There’s a u/6 years and u/12 years kids adventure single track trails and a 10km trail open for over 12s and parents. There will be an Easter egg treasure hunt, Bushman bow & arrow shooting, jumping castle, face and egg painting, various food stalls, free gifts and prizes and the Easter bunny will even be there. Simply bring your child’s bike and helmet.

  3. Lourensford market
    On the 16 April, 2017 Lourensford are set to have an Easter Sunday market from 10am till 3pm. The Easter bunny will be there and there will be treats (marshmallow eggs) for the kids. There’s face paingint, a jumping casle and slide. Furkids (dogs) are also welcome as the market is pet friendly.

    Our Easter Egg hunt is gaining in popularity and the kids have so much fun! The Shimmy Beach Club Restaurant will have its normal A La Carte Lunch Menu. For the Kids we have two au pairs on duty on the day that will keep an eye on the kiddies in the play room as well as lead the Easter Egg Hunt between 13:00 and 14:00.
